Synchronization

Synchronization - is very complicated, but in some cases, an indispensable tool. Please read this article very carefully to all those who will use it to avoid unwanted situations.

Thus, synchronization - a process which Zebroid tries to make a blog look exactly the same as the active program project. During synchronization, the program downloads all the articles on the site, comparing them (by ID) with articles in the project. After comparing it makes a list of items to remove (which are absent in program project but presenting on the site), list of items to add (opposite to the previous) and editing (those that are present in both).

Please note that comparing uses identifier of post on the site, which is generating during the import of XML-RPC, XML-RPC export and during posting in synchronization mode. If you created an article on the site, and then just manually created it in the program, the program will treat it as new, despite the fact that the texts are identical. If you want the content of the program to be identical to the content of the blog, then import it into an empty project.

As for the option "add not used only", it works like a normal export of new post, it does not delete or edit, but only adds posts that are not on the site. The only difference is that:

  • When posts does not have an identifier for an active blog, or exports marked as "used", they are considered as new;

  • After uploading the images, text in posts gets updated and all local links in the project becomes identical to those that on the blog (this is done in order to avoid picture uploading after each synchronization).

This option will be necessary for those who hadn’t changed anything in the old articles, but only added new ones.
